A couple of weeks ago, the kids and I came home to discover a little bat by our door. It was so cute curled up in a ball and sleeping in the corner of the entry way to the apartment (outside.) I took some pictures and we talked about how bats are nocturnal animals.
Once Papi came home, I asked him to get some closer shots so we could try and figure out what kind of bat it is. Well, he did, and the bat woke up! It sure wasn't very happy about that, but at least we were able to figure out that it's an eastern small-footed myotis. Once I can access the pictures Papi took, I'll add them to the post.
Oh, by the way, if you wake a bat up, he will go back to sleep, but he will most likely not return.
